Welcome to Namo Hillside

Our first bure is ready to welcome guests.

Perched above the sea, it offers a private and secluded stay — enjoy total privacy from other guests while our family welcomes you with authentic Fijian meals and warm Bula smiles. Evenings are lit by solar lamps, and while there’s no electricity in the bure, you may occasionally hear the gentle hum of the generator.

Expect peace and quiet, where life ticks a few beats slower and the fresh tropical breeze surrounds you. From this unique strip of land, you can witness both sunrise and sunset — a rare gift of this narrow island setting. During the day, explore lush tropical hills, take a scenic walk toward Mount Nakeke, or wander along several untouched beaches stretching toward Soso village. In season, you may spot Mantas gliding gracefully through the nearby passage.

This is a truly off-grid, mindful escape. Book now to be our first guest and enjoy a private, serene experience unlike any other.

"We were blessed to be among the first to experience Namo Hillside, its nature, its people, and its food. The hosts cook traditional Fijian dishes using mostly what the ocean and their own plantation provide. It’s not only very healthy but also extremely delicious and unique..."

On the southern tip of Naviti island, Namo Hillside is in the process of becoming a perfect little place in paradise. We were fortunate to meet Tanja and Simo and their two beautiful children and see their ambitious plans come to life. Simo, born and raised in nearby Soso village, has a strong connection to the island and showed us how to live off the land and sea: planting bananas, collecting fruit and coconuts, catching fish and preparing delicious meals.

We had the privilege to visit Namo Hillside while it was still being built! The hosting family was incredibly hospitable and showed us around the island, took us snorkelling, made us Fijian food and introduced us to Fijian culture! It was definitely the highlight of our whole visit in Fiji!

We are...

...Simo and Tanja – Fijian and German – a couple who met on the islands in 2014, built a life in Germany, and always carried Fiji in our hearts. After nearly a decade of city life and two beautiful children later, we longed for a slower rhythm, open skies, and a life that felt real again.

In 2024, we followed that longing back to Simo's home – a green hillside on Fiji’s Yasawa Islands that has been in Simo’s family for generations. With the help of family and our own hands, we’re building something special: a small collection of ocean-view bures tucked into nature – fewer than ten – each one simple, beautiful, and clean.
